Ben is very loving and enjoys going in the car and on walks. He is doggie door and crate trained and not food or toy aggressive. He loves to play with toys and does the Basset 500 around the house. We do not think Ben had any toys before he came to us because he acts like a puppy with them.

Ben is currently working with a trainer to gain confidence in other dogs and people and will need to continue his training after adopted. We feel this will be the best way to help with Ben’s adjustment to his new family and home. We also feel this will help strengthen the bond between him and his new family. Ben would be best in a family that is active and likes to take their four-legged buddy with them. Ben would also do best with older children.

Ben is what AZBHR calls a work in progress and in the time he has been in foster care, he is making leaps and bounds towards becoming the “perfect” basset. It is time for Ben to settle into his forever home, where he will be loved, cherished and shown how a basset should be treated.
