Oleg
Oleg
is a nine year young, red and white neutered male Basset. He still has
many puppy traits. He loves chew bones. He talks a great deal and
welcomes his Foster Parents with great joy when they return home. Oleg
really likes super balls. He bounces it himself and then chases it. Soft
stuffed toys are also high on Oleg’s list of fun things to play with.Nothing makes Oleg happier than sitting at his people’s feet and getting a good head and ear rub. Oleg will give you kisses and roll over for belly rubs once he knows and trusts you. He enjoys car rides (a little too much) and barks for most of the trip. He loves to go for walks and is well behaved at Pet Co, and Home Depot. Oleg is a true Rescue Dog. He is having a difficult time
transitioning from his 9 year life as the ONLY dog in a two parent
household to his Foster Home. His family got a divorce and neither of
his parents was able to keep him. He spent almost 4 weeks in a Doggie
Day Care Kennel. Now he finds himself in a rather small town home. He
shares this space with four other dogs and four children ages 3, 4, 5 &
5. To make matters worse he doesn’t even have a yard to play in, just a
patio. Oleg appears to have some issues with sharing his space with
other dogs, although he has only growled and barked at them. No biting.
Oleg also shows some signs of perhaps having been hit in the past. If
his Foster Parents correct him for growling and or barking and their
hands come near his head he will snap, growl and doesn’t back down. He does have arthritis and a heart murmur. He is on Rymadil and Glycocamine for the arthritis. His heart may get worse as he ages, but no medications are needed at this time. Oleg’s dream forever home would be similar to his home for the first 9 years of his life. One other dog that will respect Oleg’s Alpha place in is family would be OK. Are you his new family?
