Heathcliff

Heathcliff is an active senior looking for a home of his own. It's always sad when a dog is dumped on the street and has to wait for Animal Control to pick it up, but it's even sadder when it happens to a Senior. Heathcliff is a nice little hound who deserves some love and attention.

Heathcliff was in a sorry state when we found him at the Shelter, you can see by his picture from there (below) that he wasn't doing well. Look at him now sleeping sweetly in his crate, he has become a happy and contented little hound. It's too bad that his owners turned him lose to fend for himself, he's too old for that and no dog deserves such treatment. Heathcliff is a senior hound with a lot left to offer to a special person. He is too old to want to be around children and needs a quiet environment, but does well with other quieter dogs.

If you're home all day and looking for some company, Heathcliff could be the hound for you. He is so grateful for a bowl of good food and some ear scratches that it makes you feel happy to be the cause of his joy! Heathcliff is learning to use the doggie door, and yes, you can teach an old dog new tricks! He still has an occasional accident and does better if you're there to suggest a bathroom break to him. He puts himself to bed in his crate at night and is always glad to see you in the morning.
