Kyla

Hello to all of you!! My name is Kyla, and I am about 8 1/2yrs. old. My new friend, Noelle, was a bit lonely when Frederica found her forever home, so I volunteered to step in and fill the gap. You see, Noelle and I have been through similar experiences. I was also attacked by a large dog and suffered some nasty bites. I was surrendered to AZBHR when my family couldn't get the care I needed. The special people at Four Legged Friends treated me, too, and I am all better now.

I am a smaller basset, just right for jumping on the couch and snuggling on your lap while you read or watch TV. I have the biggest brown eyes and the sweetest disposition that I will use to immediately win you over so I can get lots of love and attention, which I will return in abundance. I like to play with my foster sisters, and wouldn't mind having a four legged companion.

I am spayed, microchipped, up to date on all my shots, and doggy door trained. I love to go to the doggy park, and am learning to play with the other dogs there. I

am always eager for a ride in the car. I walk well on a leash, even next to my two foster sisters, with Noelle in tow in her wagon.

I am currently waiting for further treatment following the removal of a suspicious tumor from my belly, but will be ready for my new forever home when I recover. Could that be you? Just contact AZBHR, and we can arrange a time to get together to talk.

July 18, 2009 update:  Kyla is still in her foster home waiting to find that perfect forever family. She is a happy, easy going girl who will soon be 10yrs old. She still likes to play a little, but prefers to just get a lot of love. When out and about--especially at the dog park--she does this by looking up at everyone with her big "please love me" eyes, and is quite successful at getting lots of petting. She gets along very well with all other dogs, but will let them know if they are too rambunctious or intrusive with her. She would be happiest with a home that is as easygoing as she is. Although Kyla has recovered from her surgeries (3 last year), she has been having some problems with skin infections, and needs to be on antibiotics periodically. She doesn't mind this a bit, as long as long as she can take them in a good bite of peanut butter or cream cheese (YUM!!).

If you would like to meet Kyla, please contact AZBHR and fill out an application.
